2 weeks and counting- Renegade Craft Fair!

Artwork by Kate Sutton

Just in case you weren't aware I will be selling my Mellybee wares at Renegade Craft Fair in London this September. For those of you who don't know anything about what a Renegade Craft Fair is here's some blurb I pulled from their website:

The Renegade Craft Fair (RCF) is a large scale marketplace event, showcasing the work of contemporary indie-craft artists. Featuring hundreds of artists at a time, vendors travel from all over to sell their handmade goods and original artwork. RCF is held in urban epicenters of creative indie-entrepreneurship throughout the US and abroad – including Brooklyn, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Austin, and London (UK).

And what makes it so unique?

The Renegade Craft Fair differs from traditional arts and craft fairs by focusing on DIY and indie-craft culture. Each individual fair is juried from hundreds of applications to purposefully feature a curated, eclectic array of young and emergent designers producing original and handmade goods in a wide variety of media. We feature artists with a Do It Yourself spirit – creating innovative work using traditional craft methods, but not based on preexisting patterns or products. Each event features paper goods, housewares, ceramics, bath products, jewellery, craft kits, accessories, clothing, comics, knits, curios, collectibles, artwork, and so much more!

So if you happen to reside in London or may be visiting on the 15/16th September make sure you come by the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane and pop up for a browse. It's free to enter and there will be loads of inspiration, quirky gifts and hands on craft activities for you to try-plus I would love to meet you in person. Catch me at Booth number 10 where I'll be sharing the space with another screenprinting business- the playful printmakers of  HelloDodo. SEE YOU THERE!

Sunset Sessions Poster

Here's a poster I've just completed for Sunset Sessions - a urban/street style music event happening in September at the Colchester Arts Centre, Essex. The guys who approached me were pretty loose with the brief- it just had to look colourful and have Humpty Dumpty feature somewhere in it! Apparently Colchester Arts Centre is the birth place of Mr. H.D - one of towers was where he reportedly fell from...!
It's been nice to do some more colourful digital work and of course do a bit of hand lettering- which I find is always an enjoyable task!

BTW Can you believe it's May already?! Time is flying...
